Main targets and structure of the module

The main targets of the module are the following:

1. A general introduction to the handling of GroIMP and to the required knowledge for the use of GroIMP in the course.
2. In a further development step: Introduction to the programming language XL and to the creation of models with XL and GroIMP.


Structure of the module:

At first, a general introduction to the use of GroIMP is given in the first 19 units. The language XL isn’t the topic of these units. Some basic programme features, options and opportunities are shown and explained.
After that, the transition to the actual learning of the language XL is given by showing how the examples of the course can be opened and how the RGG-Tutorial, which is integrated in GroIMP, can be used.
The actual rules and basic features of the relational growth grammars and the language XL will be shown and explained in a following so far just planned learning module. This will happen taking the course structure into account (see also item 2 under “Targets”).
