Beside the direct selection of an object from the 3D View, it’s possible to watch all model objects in a hierarchical or not hierarchical order inside the Object Inspector. You can select the objects from there either.
This is also advantageous because some model objects, like the rotation nodes which describe the angles by a parameter and which aren’t visible in the 3D View, are depicted in the Object Inspector.
You can open the Object Inspector by the Menu Bar -> Panels -> Graph. Two options are available: We’re choosing the hierarchical inspector. The difference between the two alternatives is that the objects in the hierarchical inspector are listed and ordered according to their structure – the relations and branching – in hierarchical order in contrast to a simple list in the flat inspector where one object is arranged below the other.
A new window is opening and we see the objects “Node” and “RGG-Root” at first. The other objects are available by clicking on the small switch or by using the option “Expand all”. Then, the whole tree is opening.
All objects in the Object Inspector are shown with their names. F is a branch, RH and RU are the rotation nodes and the A’s are the buds in this model.
A simple mouse click on an object opens the Attribute Editor with the object attributes. As another result of the selection, you can see the object-position in the model by the coordinate axes in the 3D-View.
The option “Collapse all” closes the object tree and the “X” closes the whole Object Inspector.
