GroIMP Module 1 English

Spoken text

First, you’ll learn how to change the element sizes. You can just go with the cursor over the frame of the element. After the cursor has shifted, it’s possible to change the size of the element by dragging – you need to hold the mouse button – and by dropping it – release the mouse button – in the desired position.

Beside the alteration of the sizes, it’s also possible to change the positioning of the elements. You can set up a completely new layout which is fitted to your demands.
The cursor must be either over a free surface, like here on the RGG Control Buttons or the 3D View, or over a tab, like here on the Editor and the Messages Window. If you want to drag the element to another position, you need to hold the mouse button and release it when you’ve reached the desired position. The black frame shows where you can drop the element.

Other available options for changing the layout are to close or to undock elements by a right click on the tab or the free surface. If it’s undocked, the element will be shown as a single window and it’s also displayed in the task bar.
The element can be integrated into the layout again by drag and drop. If you closed an element, you can reopen it from the Menu Bar -> Panels where all available elements of GroIMP are directly accessible.
If you don’t want to maintain the changed layout or if you have reasons to get the original layout back, you can go to the Menu Bar -> Panels -> Set Layout -> RGG Layout. This is – besides the 3D Modelling Layout which will be explained in the later units 13 and 14 – the predefined layout for new RGG Projects.
The newly designed layout will be saved by saving the whole project.
