Introduction to Chapter 1 (1/10)

In this introductory chapter, we will concentrate on what makes literature search fundamental to academic work. This chapter also introduces criteria for evaluating the academic quality of the sources you find.

This course will help you learn how to search for literature on a certain topic or a research question. What the course does not cover is how to narrow your topic or come up with a specific research question. If you have questions about conceptualising and writing academic papers, you can address them to the International Writing Centre of the University of Göttingen or the Writing Advisory Centre of the Faculty of Social Sciences (in German).
