Snowball technique combined with searching a database (13/14)

Note that scouring lists of references will only lead you to the sources published in the past, i.e. prior to the publication of the source where this other literature is cited. This means that you might miss out on more recent, either supporting or critical and opposing, arguments on the same topic. To avoid this, use both the "snowball technique“ and the search in a database or catalogue together. This way, aside from fundamental texts your search will also cover recent scholarly works on your topic.
