Refining the results (7/14)

If you only use the quick search, you will usually retrieve a high number results (depending on the search platform and your search query, of course). In many databases and library catalogues, you should also be able to filter your results. Popular filters usually include publication years, languages, subject areas etc. You can filter results either after using the quick search or the advanced search. Another way to refine your results is to select the criteria according to which your results are sorted, e.g. relevance, publication date etc.
