In this chapter, we will introduce different strategies and tips for effective literature searching. These strategies can be applied to any search platform, though in some cases they might be more helpful than in others. In any case, you should always give yourself some time to find your feet in a new search platform. For example, some databases refer to “subject headings” as “descriptors”, so it might prove to be helpful to combine different search strategies.
