How is published in my subject? (17/19)

The previous chapters makes it clear that there are different publication forms as well as different search platforms. The choice of publication types and respective search platforms largely depends on your discipline. For example, in natural sciences, journal publications are quite common, while in the humanities, articles are still rather often published in books. You can ask your lecturer about the publication culture and practices in your academic field to know what kinds of sources you need to search for.

Tip: Search the library catalogue for subject-specific sources that deal with literature search. If you focus on literary studies, check out the Literary Research series published by Scarecrow Press. For example:
