Ecologists become more and more aware of the importance of space and scale in ecology. Thus, there are several methods to analyze spatial patterns. During the face-to-face lectures, the statistical theory of spatial statistics and particular point pattern analysis is introduced. The methods include summary functions, Monte-Carlo simulations of null models or point process models.
To show the application of the introduced methods, this ILIAS eLearning module provides videos in which invited international guests present research studies applying point pattern analysis. Additionally, we also conducted interviews with the guests about their scientific career and working conditions in general. Furthermore, the eLearning module includes videos and tutorials about how to redo the presented analyses. Lastly, we provide some videos repeating some basic concepts of spatial point pattern analysis.
The videos were produced in the summer of 2019 in Goettingen and we hope they assist you to use point pattern analysis for your own research questions.
