Introduction to Digital Image and Artefact Science | |
This introductory lecture consists of 12 lessons and will familiarise you with the basics of Digital Image and Artefact Sciences. At the same time, you will also learn important terms and concepts from the Humanities and Computer Science. It may all seem like a lot to you, but you need this basic knowledge to keep up well in the advanced courses. Therefore, it is not enough to just listen to the lectures. You have to work intensively on the content (and yes, you also have to cram a lot). But it's worth it, because this way you'll be able to understand complicated things and participate in discussions at a high level right from the beginning of your studies.
In addition to the video lectures, you will also find in-depth exercises. These are designed to help you review and understand the material better.
At the end of the semester, there is an online exam where this knowledge is tested, but where you also have to show that you have understood the content and can apply it to an example. If you would like to take part, please register for the exam at digital.humanities@phil.uni-goettingen.de.
Now I wish you good luck and hope that you find the topics interesting. I would be pleased if you are inspired to think for yourself and can build on this knowledge in the course of your studies.
